Urban Paws is a private, non for profit rescue
that began 7 years ago with the mission to work with not just the animals, but the owners as well. People are the
crux of animal abuse, neglect, abandonment. Rescue can only do so much if we only focus on the animal aspect! We choose to assist
low income families with food, supplies, and more importantly, education materials in the hopes we can break the cyclebreak
the cycle. This will always be my main focus as it is the heart
of rescue - helping people properly care for, train and feed their animals.
Most of my rescues available for adoption are private owner surrenders
or strays. Occasionally I will have homeless pets fostered for the high kill shelter - Center for Animal Care & Control
(CACC) in Manhattan.
Because we are committed to keeping animals permanently out of rescue,
our dogs are introduced to training/hosebreaking and are matched up with the adopter to ensure the right dog is going to the
right home! All our animals will be current on vaccines, wormings & are temperament tested before being placed up for
adoption. All our dogs & cats will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
